December 2011
I hate spoilers. I love fandoms. I hate how being part of a fandom means you can’t avoid spoilers.
I am the happiest if I can go into a story, or a show, or a video game completely blind; not knowing a thing about it. But, see, that usually means avoiding the fandom. A fandom will see little leaks and such, and they’ll run with them, and they’ll create amazing ideas and theories and fanart and fanfiction and more than anything, they’ll create EXCITEMENT. And that excitement is the best!
But you can’t have that excitement without having any information. So, leading up to a series’ release, the fandom is fed little spoilers to keep that excitement going. And while I would rather not see any spoilers, I am okay with seeing some small spoilers, because I like being part of the excitement.
But there is a VERY SOLID line between the minute spoilers the creators feed you through Comic Con and interviews and scheduled releases, and the serious spoilers that come from leaks.
Official spoilers, while they do spoil things such as character designs, voice actors, and generalized plot points… they don’t actually ruin anything.
These leaks just give you information from the middle of an episode, flat out, laid out on a platter. HERE YOU GO THESE CHARACTERS ARE ALIVE THIS IS HOW EVERYTHING WORKS THIS IS HOW MANY ELEMENTS SHE’S MASTERED HERE’S WHAT SHE SOUNDS LIKE THIS IS HOW DIFFERENT THE ANIMATION IS NO MORE MYSTERIES
And while the excitement is at critical mass right now, it will only be temporary, and soon we’ll ALL be left with that sour taste in our mouth. Like Invaderk said, it’ll feel like we just ate an entire chocolate cake. It’s damn delicious, but you’ll sure regret it when you’re done.
…that I really, really want whoever leaked these clips to get fired?
WOW! OMG THE NOTES!!
LET’S TRY TO GET 5000000 NOTES!!
5000000 HERE WE COME
I wanted to apologise for deleting the link to the leaked Korra opening video. Mike DiMartino has commented on a repost of the video. He asked that it not be reposted. Please, pass the message around, let’s respect his request.
It can be hard not to just jump with excitement and enthusiasm and spread the new Korra material around. Heck, I am guilty of that. I’m in this business and I should know better than to link to what basically is pirated material. Mea Culpa.
Let’s wait for the official release of news and materials.
Nooooooo! The only thing I hate more than waiting for LOK is the disapproval of Bryke.
*promptly deletes reblog*
EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS.
Oh…
;^;
Okay…
I always feel super bad watching leaked stuff. xD I’m glad it was just the opening sequence and not the whole episode. That would be catastrophic.
It always really bothered me when episodes came out before they were supposed to air, since it just means that less people will actually watch it on TV, which wrecks the ratings. ‘^’
It was pretty terrible in season three, when episodes were leaking just a few days before they were supposed to air. >:I I got spoiled so many times (like for the first Kataang kiss) when I was trying to avoid watching the leaks and IT WAS VERY DISAPPOINTING.
As you may know, Homestuck Book 1 came out.
For tax purposes and other VOODOO MOJO REASONS, I’ll be acquiring an extra copy of this tome of eldritch horrors. Rather than keeping it to let its dark magicks infect the corners of my home and befuddle…

oh my god.
Ok, you’ll try it out with one of you’re less prized possessions just to prove how dumb it is. You never liked this hat much. It makes you look like a gnome and basically isn’t funny at all.
NO MY HAT
Well…
This had to be done.
A parody of I want my hat back by Jon Klassen.
With Layton. Lalalala.
This is the kawaiest thing ever.
